Shakhe ยท ch.saywell.app ยท last updated 10 August 2026
Shakhe is a nutrition coach. That means it holds some of the most personal information there is about you โ what you weigh, what you're trying to change, and everything you eat. This page says exactly where that information goes.
The short version: almost all of it never leaves your iPhone, and we never see any of it. Shakhe has no accounts, no login and no server that stores your data. We cannot look at your food diary, because there is nowhere for us to look.
Your coach runs on the phone itself, using Apple's on-device model. It works with no signal at all. None of the above is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and none of it is used to train anything.
Voice is transcribed on the device too. Recordings are not uploaded, and are discarded once transcribed.
Two jobs need more computing power than a phone has. Both are sent to an AI processing provider through our own server, and both are stripped of anything that identifies you first.
Sent: the photograph, resized, with location data, capture time and camera information removed before it leaves the device.
Not sent: your name, your weight, your goals, your history โ nothing else at all. The request is a picture of a plate and the question "what food is this?"
Sent: the constraints needed to cook โ a daily calorie and protein target, how long you'll spend cooking, what equipment you have, foods to avoid, cuisines you like, a rough budget, and your region.
Not sent: your name, your age, your weight, your goal weight, your named supermarket, or any of your eating history.
Someone reading those requests would learn that a person somewhere wants 2,100 calories a day and doesn't eat fish. They could not learn who that person is.
Photos and constraints are processed to return an answer and are not used by us for any other purpose. Depending on the provider handling a given request, prompts may be retained or used to improve their models โ which is precisely why nothing identifying is ever included in them.
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your card, your billing address or your Apple Account.
We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives a random identifier generated on your device and the purchase's status โ never your name, your email, or anything you have logged. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
If you were referred by a personal trainer, the app stores their code so a discount can be applied. Your trainer cannot see your data.
Shakhe can produce a written summary of your week for them, but nothing is sent anywhere until you tap Share and choose who receives it. You decide each time, and you can choose to leave out what you ate.
Settings โ Your data โ Delete everything permanently removes your profile, logs, plans and coach notes from the device. It cannot be undone. Because we hold no copy, that is genuinely the end of it.
The same screen exports everything as readable files, so you can keep your own copy first.
Under the Swiss FADP and the EU GDPR you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability over your personal data. Since your data lives on your device and we hold no copy, access, correction, export and deletion are all things you can do yourself, immediately, in Settings.
If you believe we hold something about you, write to no-reply@mehro.ch and we'll answer within 30 days.
Shakhe is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Shakhe is a general wellness app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a registered dietitian. If you are pregnant, managing a medical condition, taking medication, or have a history of disordered eating, please talk to a healthcare professional before changing how you eat.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and the app will tell you.
